Transportation Assistance

TANF (and Post-TANF) recipients may also be eligible for assistance through the TANF Trans-Wrap program.  This program strives to remove transportation as a barrier to securing and retaining employment.  The program provides the following Emergency Transportation Assistance to eligible individuals: funds to obtain a new Driver’s license or restoration and renewal fees; Car registration, vehicle insurance and repair; transportation for children of TANF clients to include bus passes and car booster seats.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this program you must meet either requirement:

  • Be an Active TANF client
  • Be a Former TANF client who needs help getting to their job (transportation),  AND whose TANF case has been closed within the last 24 months, AND who is employed at least 20 hours/week at or above minimum wage.

PLEASE NOTE: As of 1/1/2020 the program has not received funding but applications are being taken and processed in the order that they are received once funding is again made available!

How to Apply:

Paper Application:  You may complete a paper application and return the completed application to the agency. Solicitud en Espanol

In-Person: The agency is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. You may come in person and complete an application for this program.
