Homemaker Program

The Homemaker program offers the arrangement, purchase, and ongoing case management of homemaker/home health services for elderly and/or disabled adults who require personal care in order to remain in their own homes. This program is available at no cost to Bergen County residents aged 60 and over through funding from the Bergen County Division of Senior Services.

Eligibility

 Eligibility depends on several factors such as income, household size, resources, etc.

Monthly income limits for the Homemaker program are stated below.  Income includes Social Security, Pension, earnings, dividends, interest payments, rental income, etc.

Single: $4,760     Couple: $6,433

Resource limits for the Homemaker program are below.  Resources include cash, checking and savings accounts, stock/bonds, etc.

Individual = $40,000   Couple = $60,000

How to Apply

To apply please contact Bergen County Senior Services/Aging and Disability Services at 201-336-7400 for eligibility criteria and to be placed on the waiting list.

Donation Policy

This program is at no cost to the client.  However, this agency gladly accepts monetary donations to finance the continuation of services under this program.  This donations can be made anonymously.  If you wish to make a donation to the program, please contact the BCBSS Administrative Office at (201) 368-4201.
